Thinking of getting second Master’s degree?
Long story short, I have a Bachelor degree in journalism and a Masters in mass communications research. I focused my graduate work on environmental reporting, but halfway through realized I wanted to work at an environmental organization instead of being a reporter. I currently work in marketing at a university, and they will pay for me to take courses at the university. I would like to do a degree that is offered here in natural resources, focusing on natural resource policy and law. They say it can be done mostly online in two or three semesters. I’m wondering if this sounds like a good idea. My eventual goal is to work in environmental policy.
Could you get a doctorate in the same field? If so, I would suggest that. While you will certainly learn something useful when you go for a second master’s degree, a doctorate will also pay off in added prestige and pay.
